National Librarian’s Day is celebrated on August 12th of every month in remembrance of Sri S. R. Ranganathan (12th August 1892 – 27th September 1972), Father of Library Science in India.
The Government of India awarded Padmashri to Dr. S.R. Ranganathan for valuable contributions to Library Science.
